Easy Homemade Trail Mix
One of the biggest tips I have for staying on track while traveling is to bring HEALTHY snacks. That way you won’t get hangry on your trips — or make impulsive, bad decisions. So, I always bring things like simple granola or this easy homemade trail mix.
The mixes that you see in many stores are made with roasted and salted nuts or seeds and sugar-sweetened dried fruits, and many times M&M’s or chocolate, or whatever! You get the idea — sometimes, it’s much harder to find a “clean” trail mix than you may think.
So I always head over to the bulk section of Whole Foods, pick out a bunch of raw, unsalted nuts and unsweetened dried fruits to make my very own mix. You can find raw nuts at just about any grocery store, but unsweetened dried fruits can be a little trickier to find. You’re best bet would be to check out a local health food store, Whole Foods Market, or even check out Amazon.
The best thing about making your own trail mix is that you can use absolutely any ingredients you want! Sometimes I even add some dark chocolate pieces for a little treat — and a perfectly healthy way to kick those chocolatey cravings! š

I love making trail mixes for on the go or after workout snacks too. Raisins, peanuts and chocolate pieces is my super simple go to. Thanks for the new mix.

You’re welcome! I love adding chocolate to my trail mix as a sweet little treat — it almost feels like dessert, doesn’t it?! š
