Oh my…where has the time gone! I feel like I have been MIA foreverrrrrrr!!
Sorry ladies! As you may or may not have known I recently moved to Los Angeles…one of my dreams!
And if you’ve ever picked up and move halfway across the country you know how stressful and crazy life can get. But, I can say I am 100% READY to get back on my bloggin’ grind and can’t wait to share so many amazing things with you ladies!
*Hint Hint* I just met with a photographer… I have a ton of work opportunities with some of my freelance gigs here… videos will be back up and running on YouTube in no time…AND I’m hoping to get back into teaching fitness classes!
But, before we get into all of that over the next few days, I wanted to talk about something that has helped my stress during this crazy whirlwind of a move…TEA!
Even before the move you ladies know that I am a huge advocate of tea, especially green tea and delicious herbal teas.
Tea has been a big part of my life since I was a kid. Just about every weekend my dad would make his special “Daddy’s Juice”…aka Sweet Tea with Lemonade…a tradition that has run in my dad’s side of the family for as far back as at least my great grandfather.
My brother and I would watch him make it every weekend. He would patiently steep a whole bunch of Lipton Black Tea bags and then ring every last drop of tea out of each bag. He would then add a ton of sugar, lemon juice and water to create, what my brother and I considered to be the juice of gods. HAHA!
Fast forward about 20 years, and I still have massive love for tea…and while my dad and brother still love their sweet tea, I have developed a new love for green tea, herbal teas, and unsweetened black teas.
I drink tea everyday throughout my entire day, so when Lipton sent me some of their new flavors and improved teas to try I was seriously jumping for joy! Flavors like Orange Passionfruit Jasmine Green Tea, Peach Mango Herbal Tea, and Enticing Chai Black Tea…um, yes PLEASE!
I love starting my day with a green to tea to get my metabolism started and to get that first dose of caffeine in the morning. I usually sip on it first thing while I review my daily agenda, answer emails, and check on the blog. There’s something so calming and centering about sipping on a hot beverage first thing in the morning.
Then usually late morning to I’ll usually take a little “work break” and make a second cut of green tea or a black tea and read for a few minutes to free my mind of blog and work things for a few minutes.
I am LOVING Big Magic and #GIRLBOSS right now! AND I just purchased this amazing little bar cart that is perfect next to my big over-sized chair. If you know me I usually have snacks close by, so it’s perfect to keep my snacks and favorite reads close by!
After I’ve taken a few minutes of “me” time it’s back to the grind either cooking, taking photos, or writing, and by about 2:30 I’m usually completely amped up on caffeine and it’s time to take the pups on a long walk to get some of energy out.
I’ll get home, start winding down the work day, cook dinner for Nik and I, and then relax with a cup of caffeine-free herbal tea and a few more minutes of reading, before watching some HBO and snuggling up with Nik and the pups!
Drinking tea through out the day not only give me a small caffeine boost when I need it but also has so many health benefits — not to mention the flavors are just so darn tasty! 😉
Benefits of Drinking Tea
♥︎ Tea contains antioxidants. which protects your body from free-radicals that can cause pre-mature aging and possibly even diseases and cancer.
♥︎ Tea has less caffeine than coffee. Now you know love my coffee, but I try to stick to only one cup a day because tea has 2-3 times less caffeine than coffee, and herbal teas usually have none.
♥︎ Helps keep you hydrated and is calorie-free. Tea doesn’t have any calories, so if you’re looking for a more interesting way to stay hydrated than just water, tea is the perfect choice.
♥︎ Tea increases your metabolism. Green tea especially has been shown to increase your metabolic rate and may even help you lose belly fat.
