Ok, so it’s time for a little life update!
You ladies know that my end is pretty hectic most of the time. I’m basically a single women team over here…which is awesome, yet ridiculously hard at times. So these little updates don’t always come as frequently as I would like because I have other awesome content I want you have first!
But since I know some much about all of you, and your day to day lives from the Facebook community, I feel like you all need some more updates from me! So, let’s dive in to what’s been happening on my end.
First, I’ve mentioned it already, but Nik and I finally got engaged in January! After moving numerous times all over the country, he FINALLY popped the question, and we couldn’t be more excited! He proposed by tying the ring box around Bella’s collar while he took the pups out one morning, and then she came running inside to me like a maniac all excited. It was perfect! (And as you can see she was exhausted after her big “job”!)
Because I am self-employed, we are tying the knot a little early so that I can get on his amazing health insurance he has through his work. We are actually having a tiny, little ceremony next weekend with both of our parents, and planning a vow renewal ceremony for next year and a BIG ol’ party down in Newport Beach with all of our friends and family.
We are having the “little wedding” as we like to call it, right here on the beach in LA, and my mom is actually going to be marrying us! HA! (We are SUPER casual in just about everything, so this is perfect!) We’ll be on a GIANT beach blanket, have a few mimosas and some AMAZING donuts (obviously!), and that’ll really be about it. Super casual, and exactly what we want!
Then, for the “big wedding”, we will have it down in the Historic District of Crystal Cove, in Newport Beach. Super cute, with tiny little beach cottages, seafood, and sand between our toes! It’s basically going to be a big party with tons of games (think giant Jenga, limbo, weddings-libs, and more!), good food + drinks, and a massive water balloon fight to end the night — no joke! Again, we are ridiculously casual, and just want everyone to have a fun time, celebrate, and party.
Here’s a few pics of the location we chose! 🙂
So, of course, a lot of my time has been taken over by planning BOTH of these festivities, and of course the #BeautifulBeachBum Challenge, creating the Booty Band Program, and updating your nutrition program!
But when I’m not doing all of that, I am trying to keep up with my own workouts and get wedding ready! Along with following our weekly schedule, I just recently re-joined Classpass. As you know, I also teach Pilates at a local studio here in LA, and I was starting to feel a bit “stale” in my classes, so I wanted a way to feel re-inspired AND get a good workout in, plus meet some new people and instructors around town. So I joined, and I have been LOVING adding a few more Pilates Reformer classes back into my routine. (I usually do it on our yoga and active recovery days!)
How many of you ladies have done a Pilates Reformer class before?? Thoughts — did you love it?? Anyone a Classpass member around LA and want to join me for a class somewhere?! 🙂
Another thing I have recently become addicted to is Zappos. They make is ridiculously easy to keep up with my hectic schedule because they have insanely fast, two-day shipping. Their customer service is absolutely amazing when to returning items, and the ordering process is SO easy. Plus, how CUTE is this outfit?! It’s from Brooks Running and I’m OBSESSED.
I recently ordered these amazing capris, which have the cutest side ruche detail, and are so comfortable they feel like a second skin. To go with it, I got this super flattering tank with a sort of ombre pattern in gray, and the lightest weight and comfiest heather gray shoes to match. This whole outfit makes it SO easy to go from my morning workout, to working on the blog and running errands, to teaching classes, to going out to brunch with friends on the weekend. It’s just the right amount of style + athleisure, plus sporty performance.
But I think this pullover has seriously become my favorite piece. I don’t think I’ve taken it off in about 4 days! It feels stylish and trendy enough to wear while running errands, yet still sporty enough to warm up in for my workouts. Brooks has done an amazing job at blurring the line between working out and the rest of your day. Seriously, all of their pieces are so versatile, plus the fabric is SO soft, and the neon yellow color pairs really well with the heather gray shoes!
Brooks has an awesome glass-half-full approach to running and to life, and I can totally get on brand with that lifestyle! 😉
That’s really about it on my end. Now it’s YOUR turn. I want to know what you’ve been up to?? Let me know in the comments!
