Beat Belly Bloating ~ Tips, Tricks, + a Bloat Blasting Cocktail! β™₯

No one likes feeling bloated! Especially with the weekend coming up! Today I want to share 6 ways that you can Beat the Bloat! Plus a tasty Favorite Fat Burning Cocktail! πŸ˜‰ Follow these simple steps and feel slimmer and more confidant by the weekend!

Keep Your Sodium Intake Low – Most Americans consume far too much sodium. When your sodium intake is too high your body will hold onto water, causing you too bloat up like a balloon. Make sure to choose fresh ingredients over packed or processed ones. A fresh piece of turkey will have much less sodium than packaged turkey lunch meat, the same goes for fresh veggies over canned. Also be careful when dining out, many restaurants use a lot more salt than you would at home. Ask your server to have the chef hold off on the salt when preparing your meal.

Get Moving! – Regular exercise helps get ALL sorts of things moving through your body to help de-bloat and rid the body of toxins. Increasing your heart rate and breathing will also increase natural contractions in the intestines to help expel build up and speed up digestion. Check out these workouts for different ways to get you heart pumping!

Workout
Bring on the Bananas! – Foods like bananas, sweet potatoes, spinach, a WATERMELON are high in potassium. When your body’s potassium and sodium levels are out of whack, extra fluid can build up and cause bloating. Foods high in potassium can help to excrete that extra fluid, to slim you down!

Cut Back on Carbs – Trust me, I don’t believe you should EVER totally eliminate carbs, but be careful about the carbs you eat. But as a general rule, keep you carbs healthy day-to-day by eating complex carbs like potatoes, sweet potatoes, ezekiel breads and wraps, instead of high carb, and less nutrient-rich sources like pastas, bagels, and pretzels. If you are looking for a QUICK SLIM DOWN before a weekend at the beach, cut out heavy carbs for only 3 days and instead get your carbs from only veggies and fruit. A few days without high carb foods will de-bloat you in no time making you look smokin’ in that bikini! πŸ˜‰ Try this Tropical Shrimp Salad for the perfect low-carb meal!

Load Up on Fiber Rich Foods – If you’re not used to fiber rich foods add them into your diet slowly, because this can actually cause more bloating AT FIRST. But once you have a diet consistently high in fiber it will help clean out your intestines and keep your body regular. Make sure to include lots of leafy greens into your diet, spinach and asparagus are perfect greens that are also natural diuretics. Beans and lentils also pack TONS of fiber. Again, just be sure to add them in slowly at first. Try having about 1/2 cup on beans or lentils each day to really up our fiber intake.

CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! – Water flushes out your system, which actually HELPS to rid your body of any water it’s retaining. If your body is not getting adequate amounts of water, it will hold onto it and cause bloating. When your body gets enough water it expels it and flushes it out along with bloat causing toxins. You should aim to get AT LEAST half of your body weight in ounces of water per day – more if you exercise!

An amazing way to get more water is to flavor it! Check out this Bloat Blasting Cocktail to slim down your silhouette. Its filled with potassium rich watermelon as well as lemon, a natural diuretic, cucumber, and anti-inflammatory, and rosemary, which has been known to help intestinal problems and prevent bloating.
