Homemade Lavender Bath Salts

By now, I would say is pretty obvious that I am a fanatic about epsom salt baths. If you follow the weekly schedule at all, you know that I recommend a relaxing epsom salt bath usually at least once a week.

Not only are epsom salt baths relaxing, and amazing for our busy minds to take a chill pill, but there are a crazy amount of benefits for our muscles when we soak for a while.

Epsom salts have been used for hundreds of years to ease stress and relax the body, as well as relieve muscle pain, inflammation and cramps. They even eliminate toxins from the body through the pores or your skin.

Epsom salts are different than regular salt, because they are actually a combination of magnesium and sulfate. Magnesium is filled with powerful enzymes, and helps to improve muscle and nerve function, reduce inflammation and improve blood flow and oxygenation throughout the body.

Sulfates are important for healthy joints, skin and nervous tissue. Epsom salts help to replenish the body’s magnesium levels and sulfates. The combination of these two element help to flush toxins from the body and helps repair muscles and joints. Seriously, the benefits could go on and on.

This is KEY for you ladies who work out so hard every week. You’re muscles need recovery time and you DESERVE a little relaxation too!

I love throwing together some bath salts every week or so, and soaking my sore muscles to help with muscle repair and to let my ridiculously busy mind relax. For a super simple homemade bath salt recipe all you need is some epsom salt, relaxing lavender essential oil, and spoonful or so of dried lavender for a luxurious little mix of heaven.

Oh, and don’t forget to grab a glass of wine too! πŸ˜‰

Relaxing bath salts are super easy to make and when you make them yourself you don’t have to spend a ton of money for your own β€œspa day” at home. I love soaking with this bath salt recipe, then finish off with some delicious smelling vanilla coconut body scrub, and then seal it all in with some whipped body butter

Trust me, you will LOVE this combination! πŸ˜˜
